Happy birthday need.
Welcome kitty and daffodil.

£22 in Morrison.
DD has given up one dance class so should get a refund for that but forgot we are going to the theatre in sept and need to pay by march £83

fuzzpig · 26/01/2016 18:25

NSD! Our second of the month Blush :o

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/01/2016 18:26

Thank you Ipsos

Spotty Well done. £20 is better than a poke in the eye.

Welcome Kitty. You do what you like. It's the "do what you like thread".

5minutes. I would be lying if I said that wouldn't bother me.

Need happy birthday! Cake you can be my coffee buddy. What coffee are you using? I've tried lavazza gold (loved it), lily espresso (meh) and lavazza espresso which is ok. I'll be buying a burr grinder when I can afford it, pact coffee due intro offers on whole beans which are quite cheap. I used to hate coffee then I realised I was being given horrible coffee and making it all wrong.

Good luck fuzz Dhs cousin works in recruitment, when dh had work problems he said if you leave now you'll get a good ref because they'll want you gone. He's in the GMB Union and kept his job. My dad was in a similar situation years ago and the new chap couldn't do it any better than him. It's a shitty abusive way to treat people.

£7 work trousers. I need to return the pair I bought yesterday.
£3 clover spread but I'm claiming £1.50 on clicksnap for them. Need to get the free turkey breast too.
£6 wine. One day I'll remember I only like French sauv blanc but today was not that day.

We need to get some sc threads again, those are all expired because they were in chat.

The jeans I was all angst ridden over ordering are too small by about 3". I have the exact jeans in that size in a different colour that fit me. So they will be going back too. Enforced frugality.

We have a tradesman ringing later, dh is making me talk to him because he won't be around for ever . Bit scared tbh. It's usually a man thing but it's me paying for it. I will woman up

Ememem84 · 26/01/2016 18:30

spotty that wrap sounds so good! I love a chicken n coleslaw wrap/sandwich/croissant try it

need happy birthday!!! 🎂

I'm hoping I don't get the lurgy lurg. I'm feeling a bit sore throaty/snuffly. But she had a gastroenteritis type thing.

She got shouted down by our compliance manager who has literally no immune system due to cancer/ chemo treatments.

Have persevered with my day despite her stupid clients. And have just got back from the gym.

My blister plasters have slipped. And shoes have sort of created a new blister.

Other than that nsd.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/01/2016 18:31

lila Need has chickens. I have a cat, people buy me cat stuff.

Love the cat, less impressed by cat stuff because I have an actual cat to look at. Furry little fuhrer that he is.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/01/2016 18:34

em my dh had cancer, I'm not surprised that ladies upset. We had Noro virus once, I was fine after 3 days, he was still ill 3 weeks later.

Vaseline or petroleum jelly is good for blisters if you have shoes on, or put the plasters on portrait, not landscape. Iyswim.

You can tell I've had wine can't you?.

Girlfriend36 · 26/01/2016 18:51

Hello all, what a lovely new thread thanks Ipsos Smile

Happy Birthday Needa Cake Wine Flowers - take your pick of gifts!!

Welcome newbies, its sometimes useful to give a bit of general background i.e. if you are single, have kids, saving for something in particular, just so if something specific comes up we can link you to it!

Its payday tomorrow - woo hoo!! This month feels like it goes on forever!!

Lsd £1.40 on parking, had to pop to town after work to see someone in Connolls (all good looks like I can move forward - eek!)

Pointlessfan · 26/01/2016 19:21

My veg stock is pink! I'd put the core bit out of a red cabbage in there. It's very pretty but it's going to make whatever I cook with it a funny colour.
Reassessing my budget at the end of the month. Overestimated groceries by about £30 which is good but underestimated gifts by about the same amount. Had to by a baby gift this month which is unusual but next month is DH's birthday and the following month is DD's so they're not going to be cheap months. At least there's no council tax for a while!
Also I must stop buying birthday cards then forgetting to post them, such a waste.

lilacclery · 26/01/2016 19:45

I have a cat, two dogs & had chickens & no one ever bought me anything to do with them!

Have been reading Irish runners annual on my work breaks today, found this article uplifting

lilacclery · 26/01/2016 19:47

Great news girlie
Fluffy I opened possibly the worst bottle of wine of my life last weekend. I actually poured the remainder of it down the sinkSmile

Whataboutnodetox · 26/01/2016 20:08

Happy birthday need!

Thanks for the new thread ipsos!

£17 in morrisons, but £12 was reduced clothes for birthdays. Storm trooper costume for ds1 and a Thomas t shirt for my nephew. The rest was completely unnecessary, iced gems, half a melon, barney cakes, beans with sausages and decorate at home gingerbread men. I did a lady and a spaceman at my son's request. My lady looked more like a lady of the night with her gingham dress..

Pointlessfan · 26/01/2016 20:13

Those are gorgeous what. I have that chopping board!!

fuzzpig · 26/01/2016 20:15

Thanks Fluffy that's interesting. DH has been looking for a while. Oddly it's the first time he's ever looked for a job while employed IYSWIM and it's the only time he's had real trouble finding something. I keep thinking of that Friends episode where Joey tells Rachel she needs to quit, because otherwise she doesn't have The Fear which will help her get a new job. :o

Burgers were yum. Other half of the mince is in the freezer, to be defrosted on Sunday for DH to make cottage pie. Not being left in the fridge to fester.

Oh and Em savoury fillings in croissants = wrong. IMO. :o

Allgunsblazing · 26/01/2016 20:44

Thank you for the new thread Ipsos
Happy birthday need🍰🎉
Welcome kitty and daffodil
whatabout, fab gingermen!😆

NSD here and got £15 back on my CC from buying the sports bra and running trousers.
I have booked enough overtime to cover the car insurance cost in march and ensure I can save the projected £800. £500 come out by standing orders, the £300 top-up is in my current account (and needs to stay there as I only get 5%interest for 12 months, must make the most of it).

I am getting slightly overwhelmed by the whole finance juggling, so I am getting into bed and starting my new bullet journal tonight.

Hope everybody has a good evening :)

CremeEggThief · 26/01/2016 20:45

Thanks, Ipsos.
Happy birthday to NeedCake. Hope you went for a meal?

Welcome to all our newbies Smile.

Spends: £21.45 cash and £4 on my card.

Ememem84 · 26/01/2016 20:56

what those look ace!

SlightlyTired · 26/01/2016 20:57

Hello all. This thread moves fast! 2 NSDs for me as I've been away for work drinking free wine And a good thing too...pay day can't come fast enough this month. Is anyone else using Money Dashboard? I know some people are using YNAB but I couldn't work out if you could link to uk bank accounts with it, so we went with MD. You tag each transaction with a category and it will recognise similar transactions as being in that category, and then it shows you frankly terrifying pie charts of where the money is going, how much you spent at the same time last month, and you can set targets for categories. It would be great if only the banks could keep their balances current (transactions on Friday only appeared in our account last night)...

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/01/2016 21:10

I've used money dashboard but I only registered for the cashback off topcashback.

supermariossister · 26/01/2016 21:19

3 birthday card for ds friend, 10 present. The card is cool though you build your own yoda figure and he's a good friend so more than I'd normally spend.

3 engagement card for dps dbro and soon to sil, stolen all their couple photos and made a collage card hope they like it he's a great guy and she's so suited to him, happy occasion!

28 morrisons but did include restocking whole lunch box snack box, baking cupboard and drinks for school along with everyday bits.

Got outbid on the hiking boots for ds at the last second so missed them, boo.

Loose meal plan this week of sausage, mash, peas. Curry, freezer tea and then out for bil engagement meal which dp is paying for.

Envirofone haven't received my handset from last Thursday but royal mail say delivered getting a bit worried there as that's 60

lilacclery · 27/01/2016 07:35

Not a NSD, dh started an argument this morning just as I was going out the door so instead of just picking up a bowl of chopped fruit at shop I bought a pack of apples, mandarins and yogurt covered hazelnuts! €4.80

Obviously I'm responsible for my own actions and spends but I was just so crossSmile

babsmam · 27/01/2016 07:44

Speed day here but hoping it will be covered by magic beans.

Hope your day gets better lilac

lilacclery · 27/01/2016 08:08

Well I'm at work and not home until 8.30pm so we won't have any face to face contact so that will helpGrin

Em saw this and thought of you!Earn Money while you're walking

babs magic beans are the best aren't they? I'm waiting on a €10 one for boots to arrive from doing surveys and almost have another €10 one earned. My christmas ones are spent except for two restaurant ones.

babsmam · 27/01/2016 08:29

I'm still on my Christmas ones as getting time to shop is a right pain

lilacclery · 27/01/2016 08:36

Two trips to one store saw me spend €350 of a voucher ShockBlush
I had 3 more that I used to help pay for my car insuranceGrin

SlightlyTired · 27/01/2016 08:42

What are these magic beans you speak of?
lilac it is never nice when your day starts like that. At least your comfort spend sounds very healthy.
Should be NSD for me today. Working from home and will put a slow cooker meal on for supper that will also do us for lunches tomorrow.
