Bubble bath for hand wash?

I've seen this suggested a few times over my years on mn, does anyone actually do this? Obviously would decant into a hand wash bottle!

Currently we buy m.groceries.asda.com/#item/910001509591 which is 13.4p per 100ml, would bubble bath work our cheaper? serious penny pinching ATM :(

Also, will it actually get my hands clean or will they just smell nicer?!

I've done it before when I've bought bubble bath instead of shower gel by mistake. It worked fine and you wouldn't have known it was bubble bath.

I do this to use up toiletries. We get loads of Christmas/birthdays but I never end up using them. I decant in to a hand wash bottle and you can't tell the difference. Currently using up a huge bottle of Dove shower gel Grin

Not sure if it would be different with bubble bath as it's not specifically meant to clean. Can you buy cheap shower gel?

I use Sainsbury's bath creme decanted into a ceramic dispenser. It's £1 per litre, smells great and lasts ages Smile

Can you access Lidl/Aldi? Sure it would be even cheaper.

I use aldi creme bath, 59p a ltr I think, and leave an inch at the top that I fill with water.

No ones said anything bad about it. It's not tested on animals either.

felix your a genius! I'm always given smelly shower stuff that I don't use.. It just festers in my cupboard forever, I shall dig it all out!!
This sounds super stupid but what handwash containers do you all use to decant into? I currently have this one in my bathroom, but it's looking a bit skeggy and I'm fairly sure it would be very obvious it wasn't the handsoap that came in it if it was weirder colours!!

I have method foaming handwash bottles that I refill. They work really well and I've had them ages! I pop a glug of cheap bubble bath in the bottom, fill with water and hey presto! Foaming hand wash.

Pink I just decant in to a old Soap & Glory hand wash bottle so I look posh. My Mum comments on 'how lovely that S&G hand wash is' and how she 'must get some' every time she uses it, without knowing it's a completely different random shower gel every time Grin

I do it all the time. Very frugal. You can get some very cheap bubble baths and shower gels out there!

Most cleansing products can be swapped - I have used handwash and shampoo as shower gels, shower gels and shampoos as handwashes. Surfactant is as surfactant does, basically Grin.

Are you lot watering the bubble bath down? Is there a water/soap ratio that works best or just wing it?

Soap is soap. I use all the bubble bath, shower gel sets I get for xmas as hand wash in bathrooms. Bayliss and Harding always seem to loom large come the festive season. Keep the pump dispenser out of one and it fits all their bottles.

I make hand soap out cheap soap bars. Melt 1 cup grated soap into 7 cups water and then add 2 teaspoons of glycerin. It looks really watery until it's completely cool and then it thickens. Don't add too much glycerin though or you'll get soap snot!

I would have to go out and buy bars of soap.
I am bulked out with bubble bath. 6 people in a house amasses a lot of it. Cannot use it/give it away quick enough. Sorted out a cupboard a few days ago, and found another box of the bubble stuff. Forgot it had been put in there because no space where all the toiletries usually goes.

My dp is a nightmare with bars of soap and digs his nails in like my toddler dd Hmm
Although.. Getting rid of both of them might be cheaper than the amount of handwash we go through Wink

Okay,
Going to go to Tesco today and treat us to two (bathroom and kitchen) brand new Bottles, use the lovely stuff inside then replace it with some cheapy stuff! Is the best bet to get a container where you can't see the contents? Or just a swanky looking one that looks like it would come in a variety of colours? Aha

I was going to say "bar of soap" too - not knowing you live with soap abusers!

I often find the more expensive bath products cheaply at - charity shops! All new and unused and just a pound or two each. I expect they're unwanted gifts or unsuspected allergens, there's always loads after Christmas.
