I have been dipping in and out of these threads for a while.
I would like to thank you all for the tips ideas and comments.
I sat down last night thinking where's the money? I have found from one month we have spent £700 in dribs and drabs and I would say this goes on every month. The money's gone down the pan!
We have a good income and would say we're not broke but will be at this rate.
Shops of choice are now aldi & lidl, I only get steak in tesco when its on offer. This weekends night out is a night in as is next weeks as the fun budget went last weekend.
The only "problem" now is breaking the news to oh, but he'll thank me for it in the end when he doesn't have to dip into his saving to pay for his new/t jolly

Get your steal from Aldi.
It's so much better than tesco and half the price!

Btw I can relate to your post, we fritter so much money away every month.

Mostly on food even though we shop at aldi.

Steak, not steal!

The £700 wasn't even the shopping money, I spent more from the daily account.it'd would be near 1000 if I checked further I expect.
Steal sounds good, it wouldn't cost anything!

that's how I feel annielostit - we have a good income too, but because we've never had to budget, we would waste money like water. I don't even want to admit what my bank account tells me I spent on groceries in 2013 Blush - suffice to say, it feels SO much better to be in control of it now.
