Just compared the reciept with Tesco (£90.85) and it came out at £70.22. Now I bought some items non brand at Lidl so you can probably knock a fiver off that but it is still a £15 saving.
Couldn't get Heinz beans and the veg selection was all in big bags so had to go to Tesco for those but I have to admit it was not an awful experience. Whats the deal with giving you no space to pack your bags though? Do they not want you to spend???

I'm sure I have a big box of Lidl non-bio washing powder in the cupboard: it lasts forever (had this box on the go for ~6months with a small scoop 3 times a week).

I've recently started to shop at Lidl too. The meat and fruit and veg is fab. I'm not bothering with the milk again though - it seems really thin, and has gone off before the use by date loads in the 2 months I bought it. Back to Asda for milk. I haven't found anything else I don't like though. The Primadonna extra virgin olive oil is fab.

I bake my own bread and use loads of seeds in it. Lidl sunflower seeds are great and half the price I can find elsewhere.

Cashew nuts are good too and dried apricots are fab.

LIDL is EVIL. There is ALWAYS stuff I never knew I needed till I go in there. I always spend too much. Its really best if I stay away (broken screw remover kit anyone?!)

I sure I paid £1.25 for four tins of Branston Beans today. Also bought some spiced almond biscuits from the Christmas foods. Can't see them lasting to Christmas though or even 10 o'clock...

I use my big Waitrose bags in Lidl - can load into them as quick as the chaps can scan.
The Lidl Christmas Chocolate shop is a legend in this house .....

I wasn't keen on the hazelnut stollen if I'm honest. Maybe I should have got the poppy seed one instead.
