Sky TV with Sky Sports cheapest price please

We moved house last month and gave up Sky to save money. We are now a bit miserable and fed up with what we have - terrestrial TV and Freesat (we paid nothing for the Freesat so have no extras). We want to return to Sky but not pay a ridiculous amount we were paying before.

DH wants Sky Sports as he is pining for footie!! I don't mind which channels we have.

Do any Mumsnetters know how we can get the cheapest possible package for Sky TV only (not Broadband and Telephone as we are signed up to Virgin) to include Sky Sports?
We are dizzy with comparing packages and all seem to want you to have Broadband and Phone included.

Thanks for any help!!

Best give them a call and see what offers they have. We did Home Move with them earlier this year and got 6 months free line rental, unlimited Broadband (which they've just extended for a further 12 months) and half price HD and Sports for 6 months. Cancelled HD at end of deal (I honestly don't notice the difference), and have Entertainment Extra with Sports.

Check out BT TV and Virgin etc too ...

Thanks Mum2Fergus. I was mooching around looking for a phone number to phone Sky and plead poverty but then I found a link on the Sky website to speak live via a dialogue box to one of the Sky advisors by exchange of e-mails.

I am really pleased I did as the deal I was offered was more generous than the one on the website. I was genuinely waivering as it all seems so expensive and to my delight was offered further discounts so it was too good to miss!

Am very chuffed that our deal is for 12 months and is just about affordable (we have had to pull horns in since moving house). DH is happy that we have Sky Sports back.

Looks like it will be a good Autumn/Winter now!

Great stuff...well done!

Yep! Did it all on-line this evening and booked the installation for 2 weeks time.

No more long face from DH as he will not miss much footie!

My DH just goes to the pub when footie he likes is on (every few weeks or so). Cheaper than Sky, gives him a break, then I have a break in return when he gets back Grin

Hi Confused. I suggested DH go watch footie at the pub. I thought that he would enjoy the social occasion but he prefers to get dressed up in his footie shirt, get his fave sweeties in and some fizzy pop and yell at the TV at home from the comfort of his armchair!!
Back to being a footie widow!
