Where can I buy cheap nuts and seeds?

Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone could suggest the cheapest place to buy nuts and seeds? I have tried comparing but failed miserably!! It seems just everywhere is expensive. We used to have a Julian Grieves (sp?) in Durham which was the ultimate price-wise, but it closed last year. Now there is a Holland and Barrett and the supermarkets, but even those are expensive. Help? Any online places without extortionate p+p prices?!

I always buy them at Lidl the quality is very good but the prices are just slightly below average.

I was going to say lidl too. The lidl near me as has a selection of nuts and seeds. Not sure what the quality is like.

lidl - DH has nuts for protein (weight training requires it unfortunately, which is annoying as it is expensive). Lidl 'mixed nuts' with additional brazils which are sold separately (£2 150g each)and then raw almonds from their baking section (£1.50 200g). Mix it all up in a jar, roast in the oven if I feel loving enough to bother! Handful pin breakfast cereal.
Pumpkin and sunflower seeds too but can't remember the price sorry.

Lidl Californian walnuts are the tastiest by far, and a lot cheaper than Holland & Barrett.

Don't bother with the pound shop offerings - stale and wizened.

Ethnic shops?

I just picked a load of different seeds up from the poundshop which are pretty good and v good value. Nuts I get in Aldi.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but do Aldi and Lidl do dried fruit as well? I need to find a cheap stockist before I start the Christmas cakes in September.

The 'ethnic' section on tesco & sainsburys sell big bags of nuts which work out much cheaper than H&B or smaller bags. I buy massive bags of cashews for DH.

Do you have any Middle Eastern shops near you? They'll likely stock them for a lot cheaper than other shops.

peterparker yes, Aldi does do dried fruit as I buy their sultanas, which are priced slightly cheaper than Tesco's were when I last shopped there some months ago now.

Thank you all for the responses! I am rather isolated and can't really get to Lidl or Aldi so it would be an online thing. I shall keep those in mind though the next time I can get out hunting! Thank you again!

Lidl or food weighhouse here. I use a lot of nuts in cooking and for snacking (low carbing vegan) :)

I buy mine from the asian grocery shops as they sell large bags for the price of a titchy bag at H&B.
