School uniform - where most useful to hand on?

Where is the best place to pass on old (generic) school uniform that is no longer needed?

We have started a second hand uniform shop at the school where parents can access/buy the stuff with logos on - but was wondering about things like shoes/shirts/trousers - especially as DS has had several growth spurts this year and some things are not very worn.

Is it just a case of charity shopping? Is there a uniform bank like a food bank? If anyone knows what's best please let me know.

I'm in Cornwall if that makes a difference, and I'm talking secondary school age in my own case.

A women's shelter might want them.

That's a good idea - I'll ask, thanks

You could ask at your school - they may know of families in need who would be very grateful for such items. Or maybe Freecycle, if you don't want any money for them.
