Anyone know where I can get good quality house paint cheap?

I don't mean top of the range, just....unlikely to flake off Del Boy style.
Dulux is £25 for 2.5 litres online...I really can't afford two tins of that. Any suggestions at all?
Thanks

I was rather impressed with the quality of B&Q's own brand earlier this year - price would depend on the type of paint you need but it's cheaper than the Dulux varieties which I would normally use.

If you live in Devon or Cornwall, Trago Mills.

By the way - be real careful about comparing for the actual quantity you'll need. If you're going to need 5 litres, don't just go for x 2.5 litre but start looking at and costing 5 litre sizes There can be some really big savings in buying a larger can. Assuming you've got some way of getting them home.

Hmmm. I think we've got a B and Q round here. I will check it out! Yes, I have a car but have got nobody to help me carry stuff, so will have to make sure I can lift the stuff. OTOH my kitchen is small so may not need more than 2.5l
Thanks!

I actually found I used far less paint with the dulux once stuff that only needs one coat, rather than with own brand, or even dulux normal I needed 2 coats so the once stuff worked out cheaper in the long run and saved on time!

I'd wait and save up and get the 'once' stuff when you can afford it.

cheaper paint is normally thinner so you use more which is false economy

Do you have a community repaint near you? They take paint donations from all kinds of places like interiors mags or even direct from manufacturers and sell them cheaply. This avoids the paint ending up in landfill. It's all great quality stuff. I use my local East London branch loads, just did my garage in Farrow & Ball Blue Gray exterior, 5litres for a tenner!
