You're right, it could have been a huge struggle without the savings, even though it hurts to have use what you've saved.

I'm off out soon, will try not to buy anything unnecassery today.

ExasperatedSigh · 05/06/2013 14:48

Had to buy butter and bananas this morning, plus emergency crisps for child pacification purposes Hmm No spend otherwise. Also came home to a letter from the vets, which I initially read as an invoice for £13 - turns out I am in credit Shock So that will help with the imminent cost of this month's cat food.

CremeEggThief · 05/06/2013 20:23

£12.74 at Tesco, mostly on cleaning supplies; £1.20 on chip shop chips for lunch (yum!) and £2.50 on bus fares. Oh and £10 for the childminder.

Blueandwhitelover · 05/06/2013 21:01

£8 in Iceland and £1.50 in Subway for coffee :-(

AdoraBell · 05/06/2013 21:53

Roads to and from lunch - £2.40
Parking in swanky new mall £5, but I was there for four hours
2 x gift for DD's BFF £15, both DDs are invited to the party which is V nice of friend so each one is taking a gift.

Was sorely tempted by a necklace but as the best words to describe today's bussines development are 'Arr, feck' I decided not to. Currently having a coffee as not enough time to go home before school run, but school's not out yet.

takeaway2 · 05/06/2013 21:53

Second NSD!! Smile

SpangleMaker · 05/06/2013 23:07

Thought I would manage a NSD (effectvely) today as on expenses, but forgot I needed to get Ocado order in - £78. Also £2.50 towards a retirement present.

Tomorrow I have an interview - eek! It's just to get on a training programme, not a job, but nervous nonetheless. I have some leftovers to take for lunch tomorrow but just realised I'll be out of the office 11-2.30ish as I have to travel to the interview so will probably end up buying lunch out.

AdoraBell · 06/06/2013 01:09

Well done takeaway2, and spangle, good luck for the interview.

I'm feeling much better having had a long convo with estate agents. This open house they are doing does not require our presence. In fact we have to go out and leave them to do their thing. I don't know if I'll manage an NSD tomorrow, but I'm hoping to.

Munchkin08 · 06/06/2013 07:03

Sorry not been on here much but have been keeping up with everyone. Spending's not quite on track ?? have just paid for new curtains to finish off decorating the lounge and am buying a new rug on Friday but then it will be completely finishing so I am really pleased as have been waiting about 5 years!

Food shopping is getting a lot better.

Andora that's much better going out and letting them get on with it.

Munchkin08 · 06/06/2013 07:03

Spangle good luck with interview x

takeaway2 · 06/06/2013 07:11

Good luck adora and spangle!

I'm hoping for another NSD. I'm bringing food to work and DS is on packed lunch. Have a good day everyone!

monikar · 06/06/2013 09:54

Yes, good luck Adora and Spangle.

A good spend day for me yesterday - just 80p parking. Today is not looking so good though - I have the big food shopping to get and also some birthday cards - I have a lot of birthdays in June.

I am very pleased to have made some space in my freezer by eating up all the odd bits, so today I am going to so some batch cooking once I have been shopping.

I have discovered I can freeze cheese which always goes to waste in our house. What I have been doing is grating the whole piece when I need some, then freezing the rest sort of flat in the bag if that makes sense, so it doesn't stick together, then I just take out what I need at the time. I never thought of freezing it before but I am experimenting with freezing different things in order to stretch the food budget a bit.

AdoraBell · 06/06/2013 15:18

Thanks everyone, I'm actually rather relieved but OH was like Shock at the idea of not being able to control everything on the day. I haven't been out yet, but need to and so may not manage an NSD. I forgot that yesterday I got the bunion correctors and arch supports that DDs need in the swanky shopping mallGrin, so I don't have to traipse across the city to the other place. Spent about £27 for both DDs.

Helenagrace · 06/06/2013 16:19

First NSD of the month today!Grin

On the downside my session for one of my jobs are starting to drop off now as it gets near the end of term

  • £16 a week down at the moment.Sad
MamaTo2FabBoys · 06/06/2013 18:31

Wednesday was a nsd but had to do a shop today so 3/16 so far. Hoping for another tomorrow.

Blueandwhitelover · 06/06/2013 18:53

NSD again today, been pretty good this week overall. Pay day tomorrow so what is left in my purse is going in a pot and what is left in the bank (only about a tenner lol) will go to the holiday fund.
Might need to go to do a small shop over the weekend but can probably manage for a fortnight for dinners out of the freezer.

takeaway2 · 06/06/2013 20:00

Third NSD! :)

SpangleMaker · 06/06/2013 23:13

Thanks for the good luck wishes for the interview. I prattled on for 45min, just hope I said the right things!

No NSD here, unfortunately. £2.50 for pre-interview Starbucks then £11 in M&S on lunch plus scrummy looking deli treats for when my Mum visits at the weekend. I really shouldn't be allowed in M&S.

Oh and £14.20 train.

Well done to those who scored a NSD. And good luck to Adora

AdoraBell · 07/06/2013 00:43

I was doing so well, then I collected DDs from school. DD2 has a classmate who can't have a party this birthday - don't why - so everyone is getting small gifts. Only spent £3, it was 'sposed To be an NSDSad.

takeaway2 · 07/06/2013 10:46

£61 at aldi!!! How?!! Think it was things like Manuka honey (£3.99 compared to sainsburys 9.99) and gammon etcetc. But the good news is I have meal planned for the next week including cake, so hopefully no nipping to shops.

Where is the sun??!

Blueandwhitelover · 07/06/2013 18:28

£7.50 spend today on two teeshirts reduced in Peacocks and a coffee in Subway and £4.50 in Iceland.

MamaTo2FabBoys · 07/06/2013 20:25

Nsd today so 4/16. Going to the beach tomorrow so will take a picnic but may or may not have to buy my little darlings an ice cream Smile

takeaway2 · 07/06/2013 21:46

And an unexpected dinner at fish and chips place. Dh had to work late for a deadline and because he works from home I thought best that we get out of his hair. Friends were heading out to beach and so we followed. Grin £25.

AdoraBell · 07/06/2013 22:27

£3 on coffee and cake by the lake, feeling a little fed up today so I treated myself.

Envy at the fish and chips. We can get fish here, and potateos, but it's not fish & chips. Glad you enjoyed it and hope DH makes the deadline. Mine seems To have eaten under cooked chicken at lunchSad, see how he goes over the weekend.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2013 22:41

Good luck for tomorrow Adora.
