Can we have a 'good places to sell things' thread?

I need help. Some double ups from Christmas and some things I want rid of but should get some money for!

I've currently got a couple of new books, couple of new DVDs & more older ones, some of my clothes, some boots, some good condition kids books, a new duvet set, wedding dress. Possibly some records when dh has had a sort out.

The wedding dress & some clothes have already been on eBay but not sold. Never made much on DVDs/books there either.

So any suggestions?

I can recommend O2 recycle for phones( MSE showed them as best payment for my old phone). I've also used music magpie for old CDs.

I find Gumtree works best for me. Tesco have a mobile phone recycling service which I used and made a few quid from...just take old phones along to their mobile shop and you get paid right away. I really grudge the fees on Ebay so use it as a last resort, and only list on 'free listing' days...one is on currently and ends tomorrow.

Car boots also work well for me in tbe past, but not done one since having DS.

I've never done well at car boot except when I cleared my Grandads and all the ornaments went well but not the kids toys/books Hmm

I am loving our local facebook selling groups.

I made over £100 this week on facebook selling stuff we no longer need. Gets addictive though as I keep thinking well else can I get rid of Grin

Oodsigma · 13/01/2013 23:38

Had a look at the local FB page but all seems to be market trader type stuff

inchoccyheaven · 16/01/2013 00:35

That's a shame Oodsigma, ours is a real mix of everything. Kids stuff. furniture. clothes, random things Grin I just sold a metal waste paper bin and a recipe book for £1 each.

I'm going to ask around if there's other sites I've not found.
