Xmas Presents for children, various ages, in BIG boxes, please ??

Sorry if this sounds wierd - we have three children (6, 8 & 13) and seriously need to cut down on our Christmas spending this year due to redundancy. So I am trying to find xmas presents to buy the children which are either big (in size) or are just in a big box, the idea being that the present pile under the tree will still look good without us having to spend so much. Obviously they need to be nice presents too!

Any ideas would be great please. I've bought one thing so far, which was a Band Hero drum kit for the XBox, which only cost £8 on HMV.com but is in a HUGE box!

Thank you!

For the 6 and 8 year olds, couldn't you do a "sack of fun" filled with toys/stationary from the pound shop?

Each of them gets to pick a present, then has to pass the sack on to the next child and then so on until all the presents are gone. You can fill a whole bin liner of presents for £20, and it gets the kids so excited - I do it every year for my neices & nephews, and I've never seen such enthusiasm for my arrival!! Grin

PLEASE get the boy a washing machine and the girl the drill set/Lego/drumkit.

Ahem.

Meawhile, I can recommend last year's big hit of a cheapy computer chair on wheels (DS1) and a beanbag (DS2) for sheer florr-space-filling oopmh!

Box filled with inexpensive outdoor stuff (e.g. football, skipping rope, hula hoop, foam cricket bat, frisbee, kite)?

Lancelottie the xbox drum kit is for my DD Smile.

I love the idea of beanbags - they could do with some anyway and they are great for floor-filling as you say.
