I had long covid following my first covid infection early in the pandemic. Not as completely debilitating as some people experience it, but at it’s worst I was a shadow of my usual self. Gradually, bit by bit, I have recovered and the fatigue and all the many weird symptoms have fallen away over months and years.
One of the last lingering symptoms was that my cough never completely went. Maybe I would go a day without coughing, then maybe a few days, a week, two weeks…but it always came back.
And today it just hit me…I can’t remember the last time I coughed. It has been months, maybe most of the year.
Many times of the past five years I thought I’d never be fully back to normal…but I’m finally now fit, and at last seemingly cough free!
Anyway no real point to this other than celebrating the ability of the human body to gradually fix itself.
