Will re test but I think I have it. It's day 1 of feeling really bad. But I recall last time I had it and it feels similar? Can you have it and a neg lateral flow? I only test as I have severe asthma and am on biologics.

The thing that's strange is I have no desire whatsoever to drink. I've had 2 teas today and that's it, normally I'm thirsty?? But for some reason I'm not. I'm trying to drink but I just don't feel like it, I keep getting drinks but can't be bothered to actually have it - it's really odd.

I'm exhausted, mild fever and feel sick to my stomach.

Unrelated but I had a colonoscopy a week ago so sickness could just be my bowels sorting themselves out.

Sorry, just miserable.

Could just be a cold. Not every sniffle is Covid

QuirkyHorse · 04/10/2025 16:58

Does it matter if you have it?
Are there employers out there still insisting on testing?
Are there rules and regulations around it?

This is the covid board.
Not every response needs to be snippy.

@Nc00019 has pre existing health conditions, so knowing if she has covid is important.

@QuirkyHorse did you miss the part where she has asthma and takes medication that makes her immunosuppressed? Covid can and does make people really sick, so they need to be aware.

Nc00019 · 04/10/2025 18:12

@PrioritisePleasure24 thank you.

Yes @QuirkyHorse it does matter if I have it as I already have life threatening asthma attacks without COVID added in. I need to know if I have it because if I do I may need to up my game in regards to asthma management.

@PrioritisePleasure24 I see the word asthma i don't see immunosuppressed.

@Nc00019 I would treat the symptoms you have, not the name assigned to it, especially as there is no treatment for Covid, unless that has changed.

Sjkeb · 04/10/2025 18:21

Test again in a few days. I had covid recently and tested negative until around day four.

Musicaltheatremum · 04/10/2025 18:26

@QuirkyHorse she says she's on biologics in her OP. So these may make her eligible for antiviral treatment though I'm not sure of the guidelines now but they're pretty nasty drugs.

Nc00019 · 04/10/2025 18:29

@QuirkyHorse biologics alter your immune system. So yes @PrioritisePleasure24 is correct.

And there is anti viral treatment for COVID for certain people highest risk of illness. See NHS screenshot.

To be honest, COVID is still a risk for a lot of people and I for one wish people would be more aware of others around them especially if they are ill/with COVID/respiratory infection.

Tested negative but I think I have it.

The last time I had covid, the first two tests I did were negative and then the third was very very positive the next day. I’ve read that the older tests aren’t necessarily that effective at detecting the new strains so it might be worth ordering some new ones from Amazon.

Musicaltheatremum · 04/10/2025 18:30

I think, having just looked the guidance that you should check 3 tests in a row as it may become positive in a couple of days.
