Covid positive result when on my period

Random question!!

Has anyone / does anyone know if being on your period affects the result of a covid test?

I have had a bit of a dry throat and some sniffles but apart from that I feel fine. I did a Covid test and there is a faint line but just wondered if my period could affect the result?

Because my mum has a weak immune system and I don't want to pass it to her?

She may have vunerable family or friends who she ahould avoid seeing for 10 days after testing positive.

No, your period won’t affect it. You have Covid.

It’s mild for a lot of people now; and has similar symptoms to a cold, as you’ve described.

SecondFavouriteDinosaur · 20/09/2024 14:17

Only the presence of Covid affects a Covid result.

Hope so, had the new variant only 8 weeks ago and in between then and now my sister suddenly passed away, so covid is the last thing I need right now.
