What’s the latest strain these days?

I haven’t kept up with the Covid news, so wondering what current symptoms are like with the latest strain? I’ve heard they’re more gastro focussed than respiratory?

whenever I’ve had it before it’s never been gastro but have been unwell with something gastro for over a week now

I had stomach cramps and runny poos for 5 days .... didnt have this 1st and 2nd time had covid

It's going round work at the moment and everyone has had it differently. I have a mildly upset stomach, bad headache and sore throat, fatigue, dizziness, am very blocked up and snotty and have had chest pain and a backache.

All in the head for me - burning up, headaches, dizzy, painful sinuses, blocked then runny nose, streaming eyes, sore throat, exhausted - all symptoms above the neck 🤷‍♀️

Tested positive on Tuesday- felt like beginning of a cold but there were 2 features that I've had all other times I've had Covid: extremely bad vice like headache (worse than with a cold) and a feeling of being overwhelmed with everything I had to do and emotional. Symptoms were mainly above the neck, with body aches. Didn't have any gastrointestinal symptoms. This is my 4th bout, annoyed as recently had it in June as well. I'm def much on the mend, well enough to work but prob not 100%. Gonna work today but from home as still testing positive. My nurse friend is taking the piss out of all my testing - saying they aren't even testing patients anymore - but without testing I may have gone to the office today and infected people so I think it's useful.

I tested positive on Monday. I started with a headache, heavy cold, sore throat, aching legs and joints, diarrhoea, exhausted, lost taste and smell. Was sick and had diarrhoea all day yesterday. Still feel awful today, even the roots of my hair/ top of my head hurt?

I had the painful hair roots too! Always get this with covid but was worse this time ..

I've tested negative today. I don't know if I have had Covid but I fell ill about 10 days ago.

Again, sore throat, sore hair roots too! Sinuses hurting to the point where I can't wear my glasses as they hurt the bridge of my nose.

Very very snotty.
Chesty cough, even going light headed.

Very tired.
Sore eyes.

I should have tested last week.

Oh and have completely lost my sense of smell.

My symptoms this time round have been similar to milder strains I've had in the past. Mainly cold-like, dripping nose, gunky eyes, bad pain in both ears, and horrible back pain. Only 24 hrs of fever/chills (at the weekend) so I've been able to work through it, I've not been completely wiped out by any means

(for context, I've had one really nasty bout of COVID where I was pretty much delirious in bed for 48 hours, and then totally wiped for about 5 days after that, which was worse even than that swine flu from a few years back. But all other times I've had it, it's been on a par with a miserable cold, not flu level)

Can someone describe the aches and back pain please? I have really awful upper back pain, pain when I breathe in heavily (intercostal muscles), hip pain going down my thighs and both arms, the muscle at the top connecting to the shoulder feels like I have pulled it badly and elbow joint pain is awful, also face and neck ache. Very mild cold type symptoms otherwise. Paracetamol and ibuprofen doing cock all. Wondering if this is Covid too.

I’ve just tested positive and have cold symptoms and GI symptoms. No appetite. My gums ache. Oh and a cold sore popped up 2 days ago which was probably the first symptom. Second was indigestion yesterday afternoon, and then the cold symptoms started last night.

I have a weird thing where when I am walking around I feel taller and as if I'm looking down from a height if that makes sense. It's very strange.
