I’ve been on antibiotics for bacterial tonsilitis and they seem to have worked yet I’ve know got a really bad sore throat that won’t go away, with headache on and off and body aches, feeling tired. I was thinking it’s tonsilitis again but maybe viral and it’s suddenly crossed my mind would it be covid? Hadn’t even thought of it, but because difflam etc isn’t working on the throat it must be some kind of virus?

I have it now. No sore throat at all, unlike when I had it before. Just a bit snotty and sneezy, v mild .

I have covid atm and it started with a razor blade throat and snotty nose. Then progressed into lots of wonderful other symptoms. Only tested as I had some leftover and I was wondering what the hell was up with me as I was feeling worse every day

There seems to be a lot around at the moment. I’m still struggling with the virus which hasn’t shown as positive for covid- almost 3 weeks now.

I started with a sore throat and feeling off on Saturday. I now feel achy, tired and my face is burning up. I think it possibly is Covid and if it is it'll be ablout the 5th time I've had it. I thought I was starting with a cold but this doesn't feel like a cold.

It’s weird so many are ill with this type of virus at this time of year. If it were November I would be less surprised.

In respect of the 100 day cough, the version doing the rounds is viral variant and it appeared initially from late January. So I started on April 2nd. The longevity of it crisscrosses the seasons.

Voice gone, scratchy sore throat, fever, questionable taste and smell, aching. Eugh. Hearing of lots of people with the same thing. Hmm…

It's how mine started over the weekend, tested positive this morning ( I test if symptomatic for work )

I feel absolutely fine now after testing positive on Sunday. Had the sweats last night but may have been meno. Would honestly have not even crossed my mind this was Covid if I hadn’t done a test to rule it out because I was due to travel for work (I didn’t go). Taste and smell also back which I am happy about. Maybe those 5 vaccines have helped after all!! Hope everyone else bounces back soon

Strep throat/scarlet fever has been rampant for a few months in our area, (West Midlands) it knocked me off my feet for weeks.

Oh wow I hope this is me! If I hadn't had to test for work I'd have said it was a head cold and this was the peak day so I'm hoping for a better day tmrw now. Tbf last two infections I've only been unwell for three ish days

scoobs321 · 07/06/2024 15:44

I'm wondering about whooping cough now, started with a raspy throat on Sunday, developing in to a hacking cough by Weds. Took Weds off work but went back yesterday and wish I hadn't. Throat is like nothing I've ever had, like it's on fire or burned but not in a razor blade way. Very loud barking cough now. Waking up in the morning and trying to swallow is agony. Slight runny nose developing now. Tested negative for covid on Weds and today, Friday. It's really not fun.

I’ve had no sore throat with whooping cough …just the cough ….I’m onto week 5 now

@Kitkat1523 5 weeks, omg you poor thing. Having listened to a youtube clip of what WC sounds like I don't think I've got it. Just a really bad head cold. Hope you feel better soon.

Xiaoxiong · 13/06/2024 10:29

And what I initially thought was covid has developed into bronchitis 2 weeks later and have been sent for chest x-rays to make sure it's not (yet) pneumonia. Never did test positive for covid despite buying new tests from the chemist to make sure they were up to date.

Just goes to show that there are so many different bugs around still that are NOT covid but can still knock you for six. I'm sure the weather hasn't helped either, feels like these are the illnesses we should all be getting in winter instead of "summer".

Hope everyone feeling poorly gets well soon Flowers
