Many patients (especially women 🙄) are still being dismissed as anxious or run-down, despite having truly life-damaging symptoms. Specific injuries from Covid can be very hard to find, so diagnosis is generally by exclusion of other causes: this is the same for ME-CFS. The BMJ's 2022 guide could be helpful for those trying to get their GP to take things seriously.

I think that's very helpful.

The number of body systems affected by, and potential extent of harm from, covid is something that is usually airbrushed out of discussion.

Long covid occurs in something like 1 in 10 cases (that's infections, not people) and I'm really not sure we should be quite so blase about catching it repeatedly (especially DC)

That's really useful, thank you. I hadn't seen this before. Now if only I could get a GP appt!!!
