What is the latest on COVID vaccines for children?

We were living abroad during COVID and didn't get my DC vaccinated at the time. He had two bouts of COVID that were a little rough and made a full recovery.

He's now 6yo and has been offered the vaccine because he has SEN. The last I read about the vaccine was the small risk of myocarditis. I'm a little undecided if it's still worth having at this point now that COVID strains are weaker. We don't live with anyone vulnerable though we do visit grandparents.

What's the latest in the research on COVID vaccine complications for kids? The last I read about them at the time was that there was a very small risk of myocarditis but the benefits outweighed the risk.

Looking for recent research papers to show my partner too as I know he is more reluctant to get the COVID vaccine for DC. He felt the symptoms from the vaccines weren't worth it personally and is worried about putting DC through that.

You’re seven times for likely to get myocarditis and POTS from Covid than the vaccine. I don’t know if that’s changed but that’s what I read and consider Covid is a cardiovascular disease (affecting the heart)

Thanks, have found the research paper. We have the vaccination booked in and will discuss some more.
