Positive only with throat swab

Just wanted to heads up people with vulnerable friends and relatives - I’ve just returned from a 10 hour round trip to visit my very vulnerable Mum. I did a test before leaving, all fine. (No symptoms at this point, just precautionary). Then on the way there, did another just to check - this time I swabbed my throat as well as my nose. Don’t know why, I know the instructions say not to but I just felt like doing it. Anyway it was positive! Did another 6 tests! 3 just nose swabs which were all negative, 3 using throat as well as nose which were all positive.
I travelled 5 hours on the train to sit with my Mum for half an hour in the garden but at least I didn’t put her in hospital!
swab your throats! I know there’s no scientific study to support it but if I hadn’t, I’d be staying with my mum now. (Now I’m home, symptoms have hit hard)

Good advice but unfortunately I can't do it without being sick. I only just about managed with PCRs were a thing as someone else was doing it for me.
