Covid after first run back following long lay off... twice

First got covid in 2021. I fell ill the day after my easy first run back (day 1 of couch to 5k) following a lengthy injury layoff. I just tested positive for covid for the 2nd time yesterday after my first post partum run (again, day 1 of couch to 5k) after around 6 months off. Is this just a massive coincidence or is there something else at play ??! V weird

I am an experienced runner and both times taken it very easy.

clearly just a coincidence! How would going for a run give you Covid and the incubation period from exposure is longer than 24 hours anyway.

@NotFastButFurious I have no idea, but it just seemed bizarre! and wondered if anyone else had similar experiences or any insight

well I'm no virologist but over the last nearly 4 years I thought most people had by now grasped that it's an airbourne virus, spread by people who already have the virus. So going for a jog round the block isn't going to make you suddenly have Covid the next day! You must have been in close contact with someone a few days previously who had it.
