Gestational diabetes and covid jab

Hi

a close friend had gestational diabetes before her child’s birth in late 2022 and has been offered the covid jab and she said it’s only because of her past diagnosis - she doesn’t currently have diabetes or any other risk factors.

I also had gd until I have birth in late 2022 but haven’t been offered the jab.

We are in different local authorities.

does anyone know the rules for this? I can’t imagine historic GD being a risk factor?

Is she large at all? I’m wondering if it’s due to bmi but she would either rather not say that, or she’s maybe misunderstood?
