Mouth ulcers?

Has anyone had them with Covid?

I haven't had an ulcer for about 15 years, and now have two that are so painful and won't go away, my mouth is so sore.

I've also had a couple of days of having bad stomach cramps whenever I eat and this morning I woke up at 6am with bad nausea. I only narrowly avoided vomiting.

It seems such a strange combo of symptoms. DCs have had a slight runny nose, DD had a viral-type rash on her chest and back for a week too. Does it sound like Covid?

Yes! I have them too and also had loads of mouth ulcers after my last infection at the start of the year. Last time they came at the end, this time at the start (although less bad) but all the rashes etc are also common. My DD gets that every time and a runny nose and that’s about it. She’s 8. I also have the stomach issues this time too. Generally it’s mild but totally whacked me and I’ve been basically house bound since Sunday. Not bed bound but not able to work just generally lying down resting with the odd chore that must be done.

Thanks! I'm getting pretty convinced it's Covid.

I've woken up today with a sore throat and a mucousy cough. It's the gift that keeps on giving, every day a new symptom!

The stomach thing is so strange. Usually with a stomach bug I'm either sick or I'm not, whereas this is just a lingering icky feeling.

Sorry you are suffering too @Atissue123 and hope you feel better soon!

@Mouthulcer did you test positive for covid? My whole mouth is sore, my tongue feels too big for its mouth, and I have a few ulcers on my tongue. I’ve also got a nasty cough. But tested negative in the week. Need to test again today.

Mouthulcer · 07/10/2023 17:50

@Sweetlikechocolatee I didn't test as I don't have any tests at home and wasn't sure they can necessarily be relied on anyway.

But I imagine you have the same virus I did! I felt exactly the same, that my tongue was too big for my mouth. In fact I kept biting it while eating which made my entire mouth even more sore on top of the ulcers. Horrid.

After a week I feel better and the ulcers are almost gone. I do still have mild gastro issues.

Hope you feel better soon!

@Mouthulcer glad you are feeling better! I’ve had this for about a week but I’m also really stressed out and run down with work so that might be delaying my recovery!

It’s such a weird sensation, the sides of my tongue are also sore from rubbing against my teeth. I tested again today and was negative so guessing it’s just a weird virus going round!
