Hi, I had covid a month or so ago, and even though my symptoms haven’t been severe whilst I had it, I’m struggling now to get my breath at times.
When I try to sleep I sometimes get a pause in my breathing, and it’s scaring me enough that it puts me off sleeping. I’m frightened I won’t wake up. Once I’m asleep I seem to be ok it’s just trying to sleep. My lungs hurt mildly too.
I haven’t seen a doctor as I told myself it’s probably just recovery time and get on with it, but I’m just not sleeping due to it and finding it harder to function in the day from lack of sleep.
I know the fact I’m anxious isn’t helping either.
Got to be up in five hours, another sleepless night! 😫

@Misspacorabanne
Could you open a window and breathe in some fresh air

I had what I thought was awful sinusitis a few months ago but then again it could have been covid. I got the breathing pauses whilst trying to fall asleep. It was very strange. I also have health anxiety mostly linked to breathing // not being able to breathe etc, so that didn't help.
It would take me ages to fall asleep. But deep breathing whilst my eyes were closed, and having a window open really helped me

Hi, thanks all. I did fall asleep propped up on three pillows!
No the pause in breathing is a new thing for me, since my last covid infection.
I have contacted GP today so hopefully I can be seen. Thanks all for being there though!
