Yea that will be why doctors and nurses have very low IQs once they've been practising for a while.

mathanxiety · 22/04/2023 19:58

Funny how people have been wearing them in China, Japan, Korea, etc for years, and God help surgeons...

AutumnCrow · 22/04/2023 19:59

My gynaecological surgeon can’t write his own name any more; it’s terribly sad.

Wore one for 10+ years plus in lab so I'm actually typing this from the underworld.

That study has been widely discredited due to a multitude of methodological flaws.

Funny how those that push such nonsense simultaneously claim masks are so useless that they cannot reduce coronavirus transmission but simultenously SO effective that they cause oxygen deprivation.

BishyBarnyBee · 22/04/2023 21:04

Stunningly irresponsible journalism.

Again.

Stunningly irresponsible journalism.

Again.

They do include the following:

Independent doctors have questioned the conclusions of the study — which never directly looked at health complications and mask use, describing the link as 'unlikely'.

But the study could not conclusively prove that the masks were directly responsible for any of these complications.

Factors other than mask-wearing are likely to be at play, such as hospital closures and delayed care.

But as they well know, people taken in by such things rarely read past their incredibly misleading headline

🥱

MinkyGreen · 23/04/2023 04:07

The ‘research’ from a group of ‘academics’ who have published anti mask papers throughout the pandemic.

There’s a Twitter thread pulling apart the very poor methodology used in the study.

my thoughts exactly Grin - along with the fact that countries and professions have been wearing masks for decades without these issues coming to light….. it’s pretty simple to pick up high levels of co2 and low levels of o2.

@spinachy exactly.
