COVID again? If you've got it/had it recently

I've been ill for about five days, started with vomiting and fever, bad headache and aches all over. I slept constantly once the vomit finished for a whole day. Thought I was better after a day or two but I feel worse again, a strange dizziness, upset stomach, banging headache and so so tired.
I have had long covid and a terrible time after first infection but it was very much chest and respiratory based. This feels different in some ways (stomach and sick) but the extreme fatigue and dizziness are familiar. I have just ordered some tests. Anyone else had similar symptoms? The dizziness is like when I turn my head it takes a while for my vision to catch up. I don't know whether to soldier on with life or not, especially if I can't be sure it is/was covid. I feel awful though

Just tested positive yesterday for the very first time. Started with horrible sore throat and cough but tested negative on the tests. Progressed to what I thought what sinusitis (because of negative Covid test!) aching and horrible pain in my head and face, blocked nose etc. Then suddenly had a blazing positive last night after testing negative in the morning. Now got horrible cough and wheezing and generally just exhausted.

I've bounced back far faster on round 3. 5 days at home (work rules) and I went back on day 6. I've been really tired and sleeping 10-12hrs a night but today, I've worked out and been for a quick run. I'm still far more tired than usual but feel so much better than I did after a week the last time I had it.

I tested positive yesterday.

Symptoms started Sunday with a cough beginning to develop in the afternoon. Monday I felt tired and achey but test was negative. Tuesday felt worse, with a high temp and no sleep so called in sick to work.

Wfh currently, but it's bloody difficult as my eyes sting so much. Don't really have a voice, very tired but struggle to get solid sleep. Blocked nose. Basically feels like a bad head cold.

Day 5 today and so ready for it to be over. I had it in 2020 and it lasted about 9 days so hoping for similar this time. Life is too busy for me to be sick.

The head cold is the worst thing for me. Day 15 I’m I still have a blocked nose and ears.

Since posting this morning, I am already starting to feel a bit better......but that could be the ibuprofen talking 😄

This is day 10 for me and I’ve now had a negative lft. But I’m soooo tired, feel washed out and have the most horrendous pain in my legs. When I had Covid in 2021, I was much more unwell but I had the same leg pains which stayed for several months. Does anyone else know what causes this and what I can do to alleviate it? I’m just spraying my entire legs with Deep Heat but am getting only short lived relief.

Gfozzy · 09/05/2023 17:57

Well I’m unsure what’s going on with me. I’m on covid outbreak number 5!! Other times have felt so much less than this. Started with sore throat and achey legs Friday, tested Friday night and strong positive. Felt rough but ok ish sat/sun and then last night and today I’m wiped off my feet. Feeling sick, headache, shivers, sweats and just down right lousy! Ready for this to be over but don’t think I’m at the end yet. Triple vaxxed but done nothing at all to help clearly…. Feeling very sorry for myself

FreddiesTeeth · 09/05/2023 18:05

Had all the vaccinations. This is my 3rd episode of covid that I know about. It's been far worse than the other 2. The sinus pain and cough are the worst feature for me. And the aching and tiredness run them a close second.

FreddiesTeeth · 09/05/2023 18:06

Scratchy throat was the first symptom.

dontcallmelen · 09/05/2023 18:07

I tested positive yesterday, my second bout this feels a lot worse than last time (triple vaxxed) very sore throat & chest feel really sick streaming eyes & nose & completely exhausted everything tastes either incredibly sweet or really sour feeling very sorry for myself do hope everyone feels much better very soon.

Gfozzy · 09/05/2023 19:55

Yes to the sweet and sour!! My husband made me coffee this morning with 2 sugars and it tasted like it had about 20 in there! So sweet…
to be honest I cannot pin point 1 symptom that’s making me feel worse, I just feel generally lousy! Pins and needles across my body top and heavy head. Sorry you are all in this too!! Let’s hope day 6 is a better one for me.. but for now back to bed I go! (Not that I can sleep)

Izadrennan · 09/05/2023 22:11

Day 13, only just starting to feel better, by better I mean not bedridden, thankfully the antibiotics eased the chest infection somewhat but still a bit rattly and breathless. The tiredness is brutal, I've never been so exhausted, interesting that others also saying this is worse than previous times they've had covid, that's definitely my experience, not so third time lucky! Hope everyone else is starting to improve

Coffeeandcatsforlife · 09/05/2023 22:34

I tested positive almost a month ago now. Feeling much better overall compared to my previous symptoms I mentioned earlier in the thread, but my dizziness is much worse, I keep feeling so woozy and like I may faint. And I’m so tired after walking. I’m a runner, run 3 times a week but I know I’m not up to it yet unfortunately, just walking to town exhausts me.

thaegumathteth · 09/05/2023 22:52

I've just got over my second time of having covid.

First time was Jan 22, barely any symptoms - bit sneezy.

This time I tested due to a dentist app that required it. It was basically a head cold - well sinuses really. Burning sinuses one day otherwise just snot. UP and down temp for a couple of days and felt a bit weak and dizzy on days 4-8 after symptoms had gone.

Worse than round one but wouldn't fever really describe it as a bad cold tbh. Was almost exactly same experience as Dd 12 had (I caught covid both times from her)

Gfozzy · 10/05/2023 20:12

So was hoping to feel better (day 6) but feeling absolutely awful! Pain in back of neck, weak, nauseous…. Please tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel as I’m so over this. My poor 2 little ones are desperate for mummy’s attention and I’m desperate to hug and kiss them

23334jjcccc · 23/05/2023 15:25

@Gfozzy
why would you not hug and kiss them? I have covid right now and a child there’s no way I would not hug and kiss them?

Gfozzy · 23/05/2023 19:05

Because I have 2 children with suppressed immunity and I would not put them at unwanted or unnecessary risk

Liveoppositeastream · 26/05/2023 16:29

I had COVID last week and am better apart from my eyes are stinging quite badly and are a bit red. Anyone else got this symptom? Hope it goes soon as finding it hard to read anything.
