Anti-virals for long-covid?

So my daughter is bed-ridden with Long-Covid. I'm hearing in USA that many people's Long Covid symptoms are improved with an anti-viral called Paxlovid. Has anyone in the UK been able to acquire this for Long Covid, even if it be through a private consultant? Or know anything about it? Anyone who has got helpful tips for Long Covid recovery as well please comment. Thank you 🙏.

Really sorry to hear about your daughter. I don’t have any experience of Paxlovid but do with long covid. Have you joined the long covid kids Facebook group? Or looked at the long covid kids website? There are lots of people there who might be able to help.

I have used Paxlovid in the UK but for an active infection - it is made available to those who are at the highest risk from infection.
I received a call from a team that deal with it once it had been confirmed I met the exact criteria. It interacts with a lot of other medicines so many people can't take it. It did have some hideous side effects but I thought it worthwhile.
It wouldn't surprise me if it helped with long covid - I was told that it might help reduce the risk of LC. But I don't know if it is licensed for use for that in the UK.
I was told it wasn't available privately in the UK at all. There are limited stocks and these were being held for the most vulnerable (that was earlier this year.)
