Loss of taste and smell - how long?

I'm getting over my first bout of covid - about 7 days in and positive tests are getting fainter. It didn't make me very ill at all but I lost my sense of taste and smell on day 3 and while I've moved on from being worried I won't have a Christmas at all I'm now worried I won't be able to taste any of the lovely food. I have heard horror stories of it taking a month or more to return. Can anyone give me hope it will be back by Christmas Eve? Or is there anything I can do to improve the chances?

I posted the same thing last week... Mine is back after only about 3 days. I don't think it's fully back...but enough to enjoy food.

I did order some zinc as someone suggested and have been taking that. Plus smelling essential oils to try and prompt smell into working...smell training is a thing apparently!

Mine went about 5 days in - I took zinc and turmeric and it came back after being gone for about 5 days. Also, I did all the scent training and continued to have strong flavours.

This all sounds hopeful! I have some lavender essential oil and olbas oil so will use those on tissues, and get some zinc supplement. Thanks.
