In bed with My First Covid, live alone.

Someone appears to have moved the kitchen 25 miles from the bedroom overnight.

Please send tea!

Ah I would love to, I do make the best tea to. Poor you covid really knocked me. Do you have supplies to keep you going. Have a good rest in bed to get your energy to make a nice cuppa.

Stay warm and look after yourself.💐

LadyKenya · 14/12/2022 08:40

☕Here you go, nice and hot. Having covid sucks, I know!

SirVixofVixHall · 14/12/2022 08:43

I have just had my first dose of Covid too. If it helps, although ten days on I am still not quite back to normal, the only day I couldn’t really move or make myself a drink was the first day. After that I felt rough and breathless, but could go to the kitchen and get a drink etc. Try and keep water by your bed and keep drinking. It is horrible but hopefully tomorrow won’t be as bad. I only had a temperature for the first day or two .

Here you go - cup of tea, a piece of buttered toast with lovely jam on and lots of sympathy. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

OldPosterNewUsername · 14/12/2022 08:47

I just did.

Did you not catch the cup?

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 14/12/2022 08:49

Thank you all so much! @DorotheaFrazil the toast is lovely!

If you are feeling unwell it has to be sweet tea even if you don't normally have sugar, milk in last but just enough where it still looks like tea, and tea bag out

lifeissweet · 14/12/2022 08:57

Solidarity! I have it too. I am having to make my own drinks. It's miserable. I've had it 3 times, but this is the worst I've had 'the cough'

Nasty, nasty, nasty.

AdaColeman · 14/12/2022 09:05

Brew Brew
Here you are, drink it while it's hot.
You poor soul, it's no fun being poorly when you live alone.
When you do manage to get to the kitchen, bring some snack supplies back to bed with you, especially fluids (eg bottle of tonic, packet of biscuits) so you don't have to trek back to the kitchen too often.

I live alone and I've got myself an extra kettle, cups etc upstairs so I can have hot drinks easily available.

Get well soon!

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 14/12/2022 09:08

@lifeissweet if I make it downstairs I will make a cup for you too! Hopefully the paracetamol will kick in soon.

You do this one. I'll do the next.
I'll make a hot water bottle for you while I'm at it. X

Thank@AdaColeman, lovely virtual cuppa!

If you do manage to haul yourself to the kitchen, can you make yourself a flask of tea so you only need to do it once to keep you going for a bit?
when I had covid I couldn't stomach tea, I had hot ribena instead (and went straight back to my childhood!)
hope you feel better soon ☕️

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 14/12/2022 09:23

I am pleased to report that the paracetamol have kicked in sufficiently for me to drag myself to the kitchen and make tea in the biggest mug I own.

Not looking forward to needing the bathroom as a result!

@Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight I've brought you egg-in-a-cup with bread and butter fingers for your tea, so do your best to eat it all up.

Hoping you will feel a bit better by tomorrow.

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 14/12/2022 16:35

@AdaColeman that’s so lovely of you x

I read that as you'd bought her an egg cup of buttered fingers of bread to dip in her cup of tea 😂

AdaColeman · 14/12/2022 17:17

@MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat
Were you never given egg-in-a-cup when you were a poorly child? Standard fare for sick children years ago.

Once you'd been given that, and a glass of Lucozade, you knew that you were no longer at death's door.

DorotheaFrazil · 14/12/2022 18:38

How're you feeling now @Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight? Fingers crossed that you get a good nights sleep and feel better tomorrow.

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 14/12/2022 20:46

Thank you @DorotheaFrazil, I am feeling much the same but fortunately no worse. Your toast and jam were very welcome this morning.
