Well chinese are getting sick of rolling lockdowns. And protesting about it.

China's covid policy's haven't worked even though many on here envied them.

Here is hoping they get freedom back.

What I would have liked is a functioning test and trace system that didn't pour £37bn down the drain, PPE contracts given to proper companies not Tory cronies, and a clear approach to testing/masks/isolation with sick pay.

I was looking at Austria now, no restrictions but free testing and most people wearing masks (not legally enforced) so lower rates of transmission.

Yep I've not seen anyone who wasn't a blatant troll say they actually wanted a Chinese style lockdown whilst fully spelling out and accepting what that actually meant. People praising China were usually more vague than that and glossed over the practicalities of how that could actually be achieved: it was denial rather than active endorsement. There aren't people outside shills and trolls who are actually willing to come out and say yes, welding people into their homes for extended periods is my preferred option.
