Hi,

Myself, DH and toddler all tested positive for covid last Monday
Myself & DH felt rough on Monday but after that i haven't felt too bad, just feel like i have a cold now however we're all still testing positive today

Unfortunately it's my dear mums funeral this coming Tuesday obviously I can't miss this however I am worried about being around a crowd of people and passing it on to them, I will obviously wear a mask if im still testing positive on Tuesday morning.

The NHS website says many people are no longer contagious after 5 days?
Is this really the case now?

I wondered this. DD tested positive 5 days ago, no symptoms whatsoever. Still showing positive today but wants to go back to school. We are not in UK but no isolation where we are (she is isolating however)

I'm sorry for the loss of your mum. Obviously how infectious you are varies between people, but hope this article helps to gauge it a bit. www.newscientist.com/article/2334449-most-people-with-covid-19-are-still-infectious-after-five-days/

I am very sorry for your loss . A very difficult time.

I had covid starting 14th Oct. I ended up testing positive for 2 weeks BUT last Monday (which day 10) I was due a blood test (which already delayed due to having covid) and as most symptoms had gone apart from fatigue and taste, and not knowing for certain how long infectious for, I contacted GP who said I was no longer infectious after 7 days. I don't know really if anyone can say 100% but I took his word and went to the hosp blood test clinic and had the test (wearing mask of course).
There after it was another few days before tested negative - and actually in the days before LFTs we wouldn't have waited for a neg test.

So what I am trying to say, is I think you will be fine to go but wear mask if you feel able.

I had Covid recently. I also stopped isolating at around 7 days - symptoms were clearing up, tests were much fainter (but still positive). I think it was fine.
