I had my booster yesterday (In the carer category) and was told it was Pfizer but didn't think to ask if it was the new bivalent that was approved in September?

App says:

Vaccine Product: Comirnaty
Vaccine: SARS-Cov-2 nMRNA vaccine

I’ve wondered this too.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 26/10/2022 21:12

It should have been. The original Pfizer isn’t being used any more. I’ve just checked my app and it doesn’t say that it was the bivalent version (I had Spikevax/Moderna) but it definitely was.

Mine says this. I think possibly all are the bivalent version now.

I got the Moderna and in the Vaccine Medicinal Product section of the app it says "Covid-19 Vaccine Moderna Bivalent".

My older Pfizer vaccines just say "Comirnaty" in that section.

Mine says what marymary's says, but in the normal NHS app, not in the NHS covid app.0

I’ve just reported many many side effects on the yellow card. Viva lent was the only one from Pfeizer in the drop down menu.

Bivalent🙄

Trustylion · 26/10/2022 21:33

I had the Moderna spikevax one and it is definitely the bivalent updated one. The nurse had a chat before and specifically mentioned it. My record doesn't indicate this and says:

SARS-CoV-2 mRNA Vaccine

I am almost positive any booster given since October as part of the official NHS Autumn booster program will be the updated bivalent one.

The nurse told me the Moderna one is 50% the old formulation against original and delta and 50% against omicron. Don't know if that is true but it sounds logical.

FannyFifer · 26/10/2022 21:36

Will be the bivalvent if it's a booster, original if 1st or 2nd dose.

FannyFifer · 26/10/2022 21:39

That's how mines comes up on the App.
