Hi, I had a sore throat a few nights back. Odd, I thought but it went within a few hours. Then came along lots of sneezing and a racking cough which kept me awake all night. It's been like this for around three days now, but yesterday afternoon was when I felt the worst and into last night and this morning. The cough is tickly and phlegmy. I could've swore it was COVID as I have had it before and felt similar, but I keep testing negative. Is anyone else testing negative but feeling like this?

What would you do differently if you had a positive test?

Would you isolate? If you're too ill to work you're too ill to work whatever illness you have. Do normal keeping clear of vunerable people

Agree wholeheartedly, flu has always been a danger for certain sections of the community. If you feel well enough to work you should opt to wear a mask and take as many precautions as possible to avoid spreading (what whatever it is) It annoys me when people who are actively coughing and sneezing in shops don't have the courtesy to do the same, after what we went through with covid..not hard. And the scientists who developed the vaccine were just on TV saying the same. If you feel too Ill to work, don't!

I am on day 8 of awful sore throat, cold symptoms my tongue feels really weird and my skin is on fire. I've tested every bloody day and it's still negative. How good are these flowflex tests for the newer variants?

Op has now received a faint positive, days after symptoms started and testing negative...this is one sneaky virus!! If you feel bad and you're coughing and sneezing stay home, or pop on your 'covid' mask whilst out and about on the bus or shopping or soldiering on at work...do your bit to keep your germs to yourself, whatever they are

In July the DH, the DS and myself were all unwell. DH tested positive on LFT, DS and I stayed negative when we tested just after him. DH had sore throat, cold symptoms and loss of taste. DS similar. I had flu like symptoms and impairment of taste. After a week, DH tested negative. He was due to travel on business so took PCR at a travel clinic - positive! Meanwhile, DS and I remained negative. It’s so difficult to know. I think we all had COVID

I've been isolating since symptoms, I'm fortunate to be able to. Just don't understand why the tests are all negative. There are other bugs around I know I just find it weird to have a sore throat for this long it's not usual for me.
