Son's breath smells of cannabis

NC for this. We both have covid. He's 7 and definitely hasn't had any cannabis! And neither have I. It's one smell I find particularly vile. This evening his breath has suddenly started smelling of it. Is this a covid thing? I have a very sensitive sense of smell at the best of time and feel sick enough without smelling this. Maybe it's a phantom smell but there's no one else to ask here.

Both my kids and husband stank when they had covid. Maybe it was cannabisy, I didn’t really think about it. I know I have never smelt anything else quite like it though. It was definitely on the planty/earthy side of smells. I have a very sensitive sense of smell. Although ironically I was the only one of the whole family who completely lost my sense of smell and taste when I had covid.

Funny you should mention that because my sister pointed out I smell covid breathe before someone has tested positive.

My BIL's breathe absolutely stunk and I joked that it smelt like covid was oozing out of him. It was, he tested positive the next day!

Then my DP had the same smell and I said go and take a test your breathe absolutely stinks and bam he was positive too!

Dd has just come home and agrees he smells of cannabis. Weird.

Bizarre. Not heard of this! Did the smell go when he recovered?

We are only on day 2 but I hope it does go asap.it's less strong this morning but I'm more congested so I don't know.
