Got the Rona just before my birthday

Big birthday next week and I've just tested positive for covid.

Can't be helped I know but it's just Sod's law isn't it? Successfully avoided it up to this point. Feel completely fine but stuck in the house for at least the next 5 days.

Anyone have any ideas for something more interesting than a takeaway I could do on the day while not leaving the house...

OP people are not reading the whole thing and its so contradictory
In one breath it says go out if you feel ok and haven't tested but if you have tested stay home
So almost saying don't test and ignore if
Yet my dh just tested positive and we are on holiday and have to tell then and the policy is we then need to leave
We could of not tested and just ignored his symptoms and spread it around but for us that didn't feel right
But many people are not testing and clearly have symptoms , its all just down to what feels right for you
I can see why people use both approaches and they need to update guidance really to be one or the other

I tested because my mum woke up with symptoms. I expect to develop symptoms as I've most likely caught it from her so she had it first if that makes sense. Meaning that likely by tomorrow I will have symptoms and be required to stay home anyway. I just thought testing seemed like the right thing to do so I did.

My interpretation of the guidance is that I have a positive test so should stay home. Children are not required to isolate at all even with mild symptoms so he's fine and my DH doesn't have the option to stay home. We have however decided to sleep in separate rooms and keep as much distance as we can in this small house. I am using separate towels and cleaning after myself too.

I can't guarantee he won't get it and if he does then he will be able to take time off sick from work but that's not the situation we're in today.

But, all I really wanted to know what is there anything interesting anyone has heard of to do at home because it's my 30th on Wednesday and according to my interpretation of the guidance going out to sit near people in a restaurant would be a inadvisable at best.

When exactly is your birthday? You said initially it was next week.
Surely you'll be better by then?

Wednesday the 12th so in 3 days.

I think you have done what is right for you and Others can do what they think is right for them
Have put some suggestions for birthday too

Thank you for that. I appreciate it. I like the idea of getting a cream tea type thing delivered. Hadn't thought of that but there's lots of nice wee cafes near me that could be just the ticket.

Online escape room or quiz?

Sorry, what rubbish timing. Definitely research afternoon teas or mail order fine dining meals. If you’re at home on the day could you treat yourself to some pampering treats or buy an expensive box of chocolates. Lots of little treats to make the day feel special. Hope you have a lovely day.

Just to update I now have symptoms. Have taken to my bed to shiver away from DH and DS.
