Booster side effects

I think I'm done with these boosters now. I've had all 4 and have had no side effects at all until the last one yesterday. It's awful , I feel like I've been hit by a train , every part of me is in pain , terrible headache and a fluttering in my chest . Feels like something has been flowing through my veins and I haven't slept all night and I'm going out today . I feel like the living dead .
Has anyone else had such a reaction to just the last booster , apparently it's new to combat omicron.

Had the Moderna last Saturday, felt dreadful the next day but by Monday bounced back well enough to work.
Wednesday, large swollen neck gland (same side where the vaccine was administered) and I feel floored again and that impending sense of doom, similar to when I had glandular fever.

I do believe vaccines save lives but for myself personally, the fourth will be my last.

MissAmbrosia · 06/10/2022 11:34

I had the Pfizer booster yesterday. Woke up with a cracking headache this morning. I've been trying to work this morning but don't feel great. Might go for a nap.

DogInATent · 06/10/2022 11:40

Booster yesterday, very sore arm last night and this morning. Slight sinus congestion and feeling a bit under the weather. Fortunately I planned ahead and booked an "admin" day today.

I swear she used a horse needle. I'm not good with needles at the best of times, but this one bloody hurt going in and out. I half expected that she'd broken it off and it was stuck in my arm once she'd finished from the way it felt.

Oh, and top trolling whoever renamed the Moderna booster Spikevax 😂

SmallElephants · 06/10/2022 11:46

Had mine, flu at same time same arm. Bit achey but otherwise ok.

Bakedbeans4tea · 06/10/2022 12:08

My friend said many of her colleagues had felt worse after Moderna booster than their previous covid jabs. So I was quite relieved to get the Pfizer booster this time given I'd not had one from moderna previously. I felt ok on day apart from sore arm and they jabbed me high up near shoulder so hurt to move/lift. Previous jabs I felt really tired and shivery by evening but was ok this time and instead couldn't sleep. I felt like got a cold with really achey joints & arm next day which is much same as before feeling very tired that week, but I am usually fatigued.
Still need to get flu jab done but that also wiped me out last year so i didn't really want jabs done together. My parents have felt fine after all the covid/flu vacinations.

Bloody hell unless you are vulnerable you people are bonkers

I’m not bonkers. I’m about to fly to Australia and lots of people at work seem to be catching Covid on flights, even short haul. And once there I’m going to be caring for my Dad who has cancer so I’m doing what I can to not be ill myself while I’m away.

FadedRed · 06/10/2022 12:35

Had mine yesterday, no problems at all, not even a sore arm.

bingbummy · 06/10/2022 12:53

Never had a jab. I'm 41. Husband has supposedly had covid twice, positive test via work, but never seemed to affect me.

If you qualify for the jab at the moment, you are considered vulnerable.
You're ignorant. But it's curable.

gogohmm · 06/10/2022 13:25

I feel tired but I had the flu one at the same time and I also had terrible insomnia from not being able to sleep on my sides due to sore arms.

Cameleongirl · 06/10/2022 13:25

I had my 4th Moderna and my flu jab on Tuesday. Probably not the best idea to have both together. 😂. Felt v. tired and achy yesterday, but better today.

gogohmm · 06/10/2022 13:28

@Hugocat1

Not bonkers just sensible. Most of my clients are over 75, I'm not going to risk them when I was offered a booster.

I would recommend not having flu and covid at the same time due to painful arms

CuteCillian · 06/10/2022 13:30

Pfizer here and I got a headache the following morning. Easily fixed with Anadin.

KangarooKenny · 02/10/2022 13:16

I’ve heard of a few people having side effects after the new jab. My first AZ put me in bed, but I was fine after the second and a Pfizer. I’ve now had covid, so not rushing for another jab. I’ll wait and see.

I was exactly the same. Had the Pfizer+ booster yesterday and have been in bed all day with dreadful joint pain, nausea and shivers. Less of a headache than with AZ. Really hope it will be better tomorrow - really rough.

kittykarate · 06/10/2022 15:34

I had flu + moderna jabs on Tuesday. Sore arm, slight ringing in the ear, slight headache. Possibly my balance is a bit off, I fell over at the ice rink for the first time in about 3 years.

Bayleaf25 · 07/10/2022 08:06

4th booster (Moderna) yesterday. Really bad headache and nausea. I’ve taken some paracetamol as I’m struggling to get out of bed and need to walk the dog.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 08/10/2022 04:20

Had my 4th jab a week ago. Jabs 1, 2 and 3 were pfizer, no side effects. The jab i had last saturday was Moderna. felt mildly headachey and a bit fevery that night, too warm for any kind of blanket in a house with no heating. From 12 hours post vaccine and still continuing now, i keep getting waves of intense period cramps, and a heavy discharge, but no period (i do have a pretty fresh implant and don't have a period on it usually). Day 2 and 3 the injection site was really sore but okay now.
Worth it to not get covid hopefully (had it mild in roughly april) just like a cold but i can't stand not being able to breathe through my nose.

UrsulaPandress · 08/10/2022 07:35

It’s weird how it seems to target existing issues.

Northernsoullover · 08/10/2022 07:40

I know this is my anecdata but I know 3 people at the moment who haven't had a booster (age and not yet called up) who are incredibly unwell. One , a 48 year old is hospitalised with blood clots. I had the moderna booster plus the flu jab and I had a rough 24 hours with joint aches and fatigue. Absolutely fine the day later.

Shellingbynight · 08/10/2022 10:52

I had the Moderna Spikevax ten days ago and had minor side effects, just a sore arm and armpit for two days. I had the flu jab a few days ago and had similar side effects (I've had the flu jab for the past 20 years because I'm asthmatic so I am used to the idea of annual boosters).

The worst Covid vax for me was the first AZ - I was really not looking forward to the second one. But all the jabs since then have been pretty much okay.

I've never had a Pfizer - I had the Moderna last autumn as my third. I'm 65.

I wouldn't have flu/covid jabs together due to the sore arm problem.

Tomnooktoldmeto · 08/10/2022 13:57

I seem to have cellulitis now at the site of my vaccination, span has increased to about 6 inches, red ,hot and swollen

As I’m not experiencing systemic symptoms I will wait till Monday and review with the Dr. as I’m really restricted for treatment due to many allergies. And yes if this changes I will access earlier care

some on this thread are very unhelpful , those of us being vaccinated now are almost all either high risk or involved with high risk people and don’t need stupid comments from those who don’t even plan to have a vaccination.

We don’t need your input

MissAdler · 08/10/2022 17:53

My DH and I both had our fourth jabs this week, plus we both had the flu ones at same time. Neither of us had any side effects at all.

Gobowen · 08/10/2022 17:55

I had my booster on Wednesday and had a big lump on my arm Thursday morning, it was red, hot and very sore to touch.

Googled it and diagnosed myself with "covid arm" and took an ibuprofen and anti histamine, and it felt much better yesterday 👍🏻

Glad I've got it out the way because I know quite a few people with covid right now. I had the booster last October, still caught covid in January but it was very mild, I've had worse colds!

Fallstar · 08/10/2022 22:11

I had my 4th jab today (Pfizer) and feel pretty okay so far apart from a sore, heavy arm and a bit of tiredness.
