How long are people taking from exposure to symptoms?

I found a low grade fever this lunch time. Nothing else with me. Just a low grade fever.

I have a condition where I am prone to infections in my colon or bowel. I was flare up last week and I was on antibiotics for 7 days. I finished them on Tuesday.

I have a low grade fever and I don't know if it's my bowel or something else. My partner cane down with a dose last week but he self diagnosed a chest infection and also went to the doctor and he was symptomatic of an illness but he refused to isolate and he continue mixing with others. I suspect maybe that was perhaps covid for him but it didn't appear on a home test. I don't think he even tested. So I met him 9 days ago.

It was yesterday when I found the low grade fever. My temperature is currently going from 37.6 to 37.9 for the past two and half hours. I am going to use paracetamol now.

I am disappointed with this low grade fever. I am wondering would it take 7 or 8 days for symptoms to develop after a possible exposure? Had covid back in July. My exposure was on a Tuesday or Wednesday and I found a fever on the Monday and tested positive on the Wednesday.

I hope I am not sick again.
