If you’re +, HOW Did you test with an LFT?

I have read lots of posts of people saying when they’ve just swabbed their nose, they have tested negative, then done a new test and swabbed their throat too and tested positive.

If you’ve tested + recently, how did you test? Just nose? Just throat? Both?

1 nostril, both throats, not the correct number of swirls and popped up pos straight away (followed instructions but the liquid wouldn’t come out of vial so I dabbed the swab on the cassette directly) - very inconvenient, as we have an overseas houseguest due to visit on Tuesday, that I’ve been looking forward to for simply ages 😡

The missing context is what kind of test people are using.

If I use a nose + throat test I do that. If I use a nose only rest I do that.

I have had positive tests with both.

Both. I'm still using the tests that everywhere was giving out during first lockdown (still in date-I checked) and it says to do both.

This - and it took 5 days from my first symptom to get a positive!

Used a nose and throat test - just did up nose and the line was a startling shade of purple immediately! A dye stealer for sure!

Tested my 22 month old today - literally swabbed the very bottom inside of one nostril for a split second before she kicked off and still got this positive within 20 seconds. Again it's a nose and throat test.

Just nose and came up positive right away

I did nose and throat and it came up straight away, but DH got an immediate positive from nose only.

Why are you testing a toddler?

The advice is not to test under 18s now unless on medical advice.
