How long for a positive at the moment?

I’ve heard reports of people taking a few days to test positive. Is this a thing?

currently really pretty unwell with a fever, body aches, back ache and bad headache plus a very dry nose. I’ve had covid twice and this feels more like round one (wuhan strain) than omicron back in April which was bad but I could function. This has totally wiped me out. Yesterday it was severe nausea and stomach pain. Today like flu and dizzy. Tested twice and both negative but wondering if this is common with whatever variant we are now on?

Some people on here testing positive a day or two after symptoms started.

I know a few people who have been really quite poorly this time, even after having all vaccinations and/or having Covid once or twice before.
