She did a test Saturday morning but was negative so went out sat night and we even shared drinks! Towards the end of the night she was coughing so she tested yesterday and was positive. How soon can you catch it? I'm sure I even kissed her good bye 😭

In England? She wouldn’t have been the only person in the room positive. You may not catch it and if you do you may not be symptomatic.

2-3 days seems to be most likely with this current variant.

Ah OK thank you! Yeah I think because we were in close contact and shared drinks I'm just a bit worried.

Hi OP,
Fingers crossed you don't catch it but it's beyond your control now.

If your care workplace is like mine you will be asked to keep comng in to work even if you live with someone positive and lots of us have been in that position on multiple occasions now.

Again if your workplace is like mine they will be able to give you a stack of free lateral flow tests (I think they get them free) especially if you let them know you have been a contact and so would like to test daily.

I have just had Covid (still got really) and I was testing daily because my family had it the week before. A tip from me is that my first barely visible positive lines on the flow test took quite some time to come up. It was a case of leaving it on the side and looking a while later, nevertheless they were accurate as I have been unwell and by yesterday my thick red positive line is pinging up immediately.

Good luck in your new job. If you do have to go off with Covid early in starting your job you won't be the first!
