Barking cough?

Ds sounds like a seal and has a bocked nose. It was running and he did have a sore throat. He's fully vaccinated. He's 11 and maybe a bit tired but no temperature.
He's testing negative. We have tests because I am immunosuppressed and CEV. We have dodged covid so far.
Could he have covid? Just not badly enough to turn a test positive? Or could it be croup after a cold?

We’ve all just had the latest bout of covid (all fully vaccinated too) and it started like that. Dripping nose, barking cough etc. I only had a positive lft for one day but despite feeling like death, I tested negative on other days. DH & both kids had very strong positive lfts

Hijack away Gubu!
The dripping nose has happened to 3 of us but ds is the only one who's barked Sailing
DH is valiantly resisting the dressing gown of doom.

My 11 year old has just had covid for the second time and 12 days on still has a very hoarse voice and a barking cough.

Very happy to be corrected but everything g I e read suggests that Covid is more of a dry cough?

barking sounds like croup or strep.

either way, hope he feels better soon. Nothing more exhausting than a persistent cough 💐

I have covid with a barking seal cough. Started as congested lungs progressed to cough after day or two. Mildly productive not dry cough. I have knackered lungs after childhood whooping cough (unvaxed) so I’ve had every kind of cough going!

I am still coughing badly three weeks after testing positive. I last tested positive on day 13 then gave up testing.

Also DP (who has normal functional lungs) also has a barking cough still after about 10 days.
