Covid re infection - who to tell

Hello,

I got covid in Dec 2021, fully recovered in 10 days and have just this week caught it again. I've done a positive lateral flow and would like to let the government/ NHS know for their statistics but wondering if there is anywhere for me to record this? I can see on the gov covid stats webpage they are showing the stats for reinfections so presume I can log it somewhere?

I'm presuming it is just done when you log your lft result.

DH is a reinfection from February, I avoided it then.

Thanks. Turns out I can't register it as I paid for the lateral flow test, it isn't an NHS one.

Oh, well that's a bit rubbish. I guess COVID doesn't exist anymore. 😀

That is very public spirited of you, but I do not think there is much statistical value in individuals reporting Covid results now. It was only of value when everybody was doing it. And even then the Office of National Statistics study gave far more accurate results on prevalence, rate of spread etc. The ONS study is still ongoing so I think the NHS has the data it needs.

Thank you! I am clinically extremely vulnerable so didn't know if it would be of interest but not much I can do as I never bothered to apply for the PCRs to send off.

Use the Zoe app?

Why not? Just curious. Are you not concerned?
Having a CEV person, the first thing we will be doing is the PCR to get the antivirals ASAP!

Queenie8 · 12/07/2022 21:26

@User14912 I am CEV too, and I got missed in the PCR test send out. I was told by my consultant to call my GP or 111 if out of hours and ask for a referral to the CMDU (Covid medication delivery unit), I have today had an antiviral infusion in hospital.
Give 111 a call this evening.

@Dontwanttooffendlocals because I already had it in January and didn't require any treatment then, and this time round has been more mild.
