Covid

Work won’t have me in until I’m negative but don’t pay sick pay.

I tested positive last Wednesday. I work Mondays and Thursday so obviously didn’t go in last week.
I am a PA (mainly driver) for a disabled man (he has no other health issues at all, only some physical difficulties). He lives at home with his parents.
They didn’t want me to come in on Monday which is understandable as I was still testing positive.
However, they have just messaged me saying that if I am still testing positive they don’t want me in tomorrow either. I checked this afternoon and although I don’t have anymore symptoms I am still testing positive.
I wont pay me sick pay though and it’s slightly annoying because his parents had Covid a few weeks ago and still wanted me to work even though he could have come down with it anytime as they did not isolate from each other.
Are there any rules etc regarding returning to work?
Has anyone else had to stay off until they were a clear negative? How long was that for you?

Tell them you’re negative?

Well if they aren’t as cautious with you as they are expecting, I’d expect most people would say they were negative.
I personally wouldn’t but I had two customers last week tell me they had covid and bugger all I could do.

Even in the nhs we can return on day 10 even if still positive on an lft. So yes, I’d fib.
