Confusion over current guidance

Got positive result last Saturday. As far as I can tell you self isolate for 5 days and that’s it? What if you still test positive? Are you even obliged to do a test after 5 days?
I also had 3 hospital appts I had to cancel but am eager to reschedule as I know it will probably be a few months now till I’m see. One is for this Friday which is after my self isolation - can I still go? According to hospital website yes & makes no mention of testing before you go. Confused!

You’re not (overly, generally) contagious 5 days after symptom onset which is why you’re fine to carry on. If the hospital don’t mention anything and you’re well enough to go then I think you should. But if you’re worried and want to play it safe then just give them a call.

Legally you don't even have to self isolate for 5 days, it is just recommended

So yes you can go to apt on Friday

5 days to self isolate but this is just guidance and 10 days before you see someone vulnerable they suggest. Like you will know if a loved one is culver dave but your not going to know about other peoples loved ones 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️.
If I’m not dizzy and have the energy to walk I would want to be out in 5 days (school runs/parks/outside) prob wait 10 days for schools and busy indoor places.

The 5 days is just guidance rather than a legal requirement.

Many people don't test anymore so won't even know they're positive.
