Due to go away in 4 days and just found out work colleague I was with yesterday tested positive last night
I have had it twice , last time end of march: beginning of april so about 11 weeks ago but first time was only about 6 weeks before although with zero symptoms first time.
What do I do now as I'm not sure how long this latest strain is lasting for .
No testing required for holiday as triple jabbed.
Should i test before we go or only if I have symptoms
Was with colleague for approx 7 hrs although some of it outside and at least a metre away most of the time when indoors just due to seating arrangements .
Not sure how long incubation is for current strains,
Abroad and flying on plane

This is such a shit situation to be in at least with old rules it was all clear what to do
half hoping I have one of the holidays that cancels now as would take this dilemma away from me

2 of my collegues have it, one is at work as she is perfectly fine, just tired and the other is very ill with it. They are bf/gf.. she has been wearing a mask since sat, we work very closely.
ive worked with both since right before they tested positive. No symptoms, so I’m carrying on as normal

We are just getting over covid now. DH likely it caught a week last Friday. He catches the train to work and had a networking lunch that day so could have been either of those. Over the weekend we were out but we were mostly outside, the only shop he went into was coop on Saturday afternoon. He started feeling rough on Sunday afternoon but we both suffer with hay fever so thought it was that. He tested negative Monday morning and positive that evening. DD (baby) was with me all day Friday and Saturday and didn’t go into coop with DH but did go into shops with me. She started displaying symptoms of covid on Monday afternoon but we didn’t test her. I started showing symptoms on Wednesday afternoon and tested negative that evening, I tested positive the next morning.

For us I would say 2 days to start displaying some symptoms and 3 days to test negative but DD seems to have picked it really quickly from DH.

Mixed bag of what to do
Looked up tui covid and we can reschedule if we get covid 5 days or less before fee free ( although holidays have gone up hugely so it would cost) don't know what happens if you get covid 6 or 7 days before , bit strange
Insurance is if you test positive for 14 days before but nothing of you have been a contact and don't have it etc

Tested today and so far negative but its only been a couple days since exposure
Think i will test again friday morning as 24 hrs before flight or sooner of I develop symptoms, confusing close contact as I was reading the details for if in your household or you stayed a night so its different for other close contact apparently - if u can make sense of it all
Fingers crossed I stay negative and symptom free
