Horrible cough but negative LTF(covid in house)

My ds has covid (dark line on the LFT we have leftover from when they were free!) my DD woke up coughing just like positive ds. I didn’t do the test very well as she hates it but it is negative. I just am sure she has it - has this happened to others? I know it’s probably likely just not showing.. when I had covid I didn’t test positive on a lateral flow (although in hindsight one did have the faintest line - my DH couldn’t even see it) but I did test positive on the PCR

Mine didn't even show up on a PCR until the day after I started coughing, so maybe test again tomorrow.

I had 5 days of symptoms and a -ve test every day. I only tested +ve the day after feeling my worst and it was a very dark line straight away. In fact, the day I tested +ve was the evening after I had done a -ve test in the morning, but felt so rubbish (and my partner had covid) that I didn't believe the result

Just wanted to update this thread. So my DD now definitely has covid . on Sunday night there was absolutely no line then last night the darkest line I have seen!
