Covid at 40+6 days pregnant

Hey!

Was hoping someone may have had a similar experience as my head has turned into mush at the moment and I feel at a loss of what I should be doing.

Have been experiencing on off early labour pangs throughout the week, woke up today feeling like I had been run over by a truck instead of the normal back cramps but instead have really sore joints and a constant headache, more flu-ish symptoms than anything.

Despite working with covid patients the past two years, I had managed to avoid it and now it being my last (fingers crossed) week of pregnancy it's just my luck my that my lft has came back being positive.

I'll be phoning my midwife on Monday (was supposed to have a sweep) to find out what the next step is but has anyone had covid during labour and if so, how was it? It's my 3rd baby but I tend to have a long labours and the thought of feeling like this plus dealing with contractions makes me want to cry.

Sorry for the rambling!

Didn't want to read and run OP. That's rotten timing. Hope you feel better soon and that someone will be along shortly to give you some advice.

Hey how are you doing? I’m 40+1 and on day 9 of positive test. Just starting to shake off my symptoms today, I think. I had a false start with labour and then my covid symptoms kicked off strongly the next day. No more twinges for labour since, though.

Like you I’m worried about managing labour! Baby 2 for me.The coughing has given me sore abdomen muscles. I have been working in frontline social care through the pandemic and this my first time catching it too, such bad luck.

wishing you well - maybe you’ve had your little one by now!
