Is sinusitis a symptom of covid

I attended my first post covid gig last weekend. I think I might have a dose now. Don't know if it's covid or not. I'm testing negative on the home tests.

Out of nowhere I came down with sinusitis. My face is sore and I can't go 5 minutes without sneezing.

I'm suffering today with sinusitis.

Just wondering if that can be a symptom of covid.

And before others jump down my throat and out words into my mouth about being 'anxious' - I'm not anxious for myself but if this is a covid dose, I would like to isolate away from others while I have symptoms.

It was for me. I rarely have sinus pain, and then only if I've had catarrh in the recent past. Both times I've had Covid I had sinus pain in my face in the first 24-48h, but no catarrh. Covid for me did not include any runny nose out sneezing.

Sounds more like you have a cold, but then Covid has so many different appearances...

Weren't you the one who was stressing about going to the gig the other day? If you're really worried take a lateral flow.

I had Covid a few weeks ago and it felt like a sinus infection and tonsillitis combined! For DH it was just very sore sinuses and lots of sneezing.

A friend of mine had sinusitis after a recent bout of covid. I think that was the worst bit for her. She needed antibiotics and even then it took a while to clear.

It was for me.

I didn't get any of the other symptoms (no cough, aches, fever etc) just all in my sinuses.

If gave me symptoms similar to vertigo ie nausea and "room spin".

That was in November and my sinuses haven't been right since. My hay fever and allergies are the worst they've ever been in my life, I have a sneezing fit if some walks past me wearing strong perfume!

When I run and cycle my nose constantly just runs like a tap.

I had covid in January with the classic, cough temperature and fatigue symptoms aswell as nausea,

I had sinusitis a month ago but tested negative for covid, I feel your pain, my face was agony. A steroid nasal spray from doctors really helped me.

Then it's probably you have not got covid then.

I used to get a lot of sinus infections before but it's been years. They used to come with a cold. I discovered once I tackle a cold quickly it doesn't develop into a sinus infection. It's been years since my last sinus infection. 2015 I think was the last one. This hit me out of the blue and so quickly too.

It has me thinking if it's covid due to going to a gig.

I will test again in the morning.

Yes, I had covid a couple of months ago, and after the first few days, I had horribly blocked sinuses for about 10 days. It wasn't the first symptom for me though, that was just feeling like coming down with a slight cold and cough, then the next day feeling truly awful.

SummersBreeze · 09/06/2022 23:31

Every 5 minutes or so I my nose getting cold and heavy and painful and then I sneeze heavy. I'm just after having another sneezing fit.

I had sinus pain ( which I almost never get) for a few days before I tested positive BUT I did have a cold about a week before and initially assumed it followed that so who knows (pretty sure I had a cold first and didn't just take 9 days to test positive as had a negative PCR and felt better for a day or two in the middle).

LeftFootForward · 10/06/2022 09:28

Another one for sinus pain here OP. I had covid a couple of months ago, mild, not really any cold/flu symptoms. No sneezing, runny nose coughing etc at all, just achy and tired then on day 8-ish from nowhere the most terrible sinus headache that lasted for about 2-3 days. It gradually went and left me feeling tired for about 2-3 weeks like sinus issues tend to. After that I felt fine :)

Ithoughtsummerwascoming · 10/06/2022 10:33

I ve Just tested positive and have weird feelings in nose think it's sinus and strange smell

SummersBreeze · 10/06/2022 11:00

I took an antihistamine at breakfast time and that has helped to slow down the sneezing. I took some paracetamol too. Still not 100% today but tested negative.
