You have to check what the restrictions are for the countries you are going to as they can differ

dementedpixie · 08/06/2022 15:13

And it depends on your vaccination status and whether you've had a booster too

www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice this is the page you need, look at the relevant countries and it will explain the current rules for entering that country.

For example for France, you currently need:

  • proof of vaccination: either 2 doses and a booster, or if only 2 doses, the second one needs to be less than 9 months old at time of travel

  • if not vaccinated, or if vaccine is too old, then need a negative pcr or lat flow test. These must be “checked” ie from a company like Randox where they check it and issue a certificate. Not NHS or a home test.

  • Under 12s are exempt from all this.

  • Those travelling by air need to fill out a PLF (passenger locator form) too. Doesn’t appear to be needed for ferry, I think.

You will need to check the Netherlands rules separately, they may well be different as a pp says.

Bear in mind that the rules may change so check again say 2 weeks before the holiday.

There are no covid rules for re entering the UK.

Are the kids vaccinated?

thanksamillion · 08/06/2022 16:05

We went to France last week and had to show our vaccine passports at French passport control in Dover. We'd downloaded them from the NHS app and printed them out so just handed over the papers.
