Long covid is killing me and I've got 2 babies!

Help! I have a nearly 1 year old and nearly 2 year old and have NO energy!! I'm normally full of beans, dancing round the house entertaining my boys, cleaning, going to the park and for the past 10 days all I've wanted to do is sleep.

My limbs are heavy, I've gone from babybrain to brain dead 😫I'm feeling utterly depressed. Yesterday my 2 aunts came to help with the babies (my own mum is on holiday) and today my mil is here and I'm in bed.

I'm taking berocca and iron shots, drinking gallons of water.... what else can I do please?

How long have you felt like this? Maybe you need to get some blood tests done. In the meantime I think your doing the right thing trying to boost your immune system, But you need to add zinc and vid D too. So sunshine and eggs for vit D and seafood for zinc, particularly shellfish such as prawns etc.

TulipsGarden · 18/05/2022 11:24

How long ago did you have Covid?

HoppingPavlova · 18/05/2022 11:33

It may not be Covid related, just coincidental. Have you had a blood panel including thyroid?

boymama82 · 18/05/2022 13:47

I got my negative covid test 2 months ago

I got my negative covid test 2 months ago

well that’s good considering not every illness doesn’t relate to covid

boymama82 · 19/05/2022 05:19

10 days isn't long, it feels it though. Give yourself some time to get better, not what you want to hear but I found the fatigue worse when I started testing negative again and it took a good 6 weeks to start feeling better.

TheCaddieisaBaddie · 19/05/2022 05:48

I've take Vit B and Omega oils supplements and these really helped me, it wasn't so much tiredness although this built up over the week but the brain fog. I couldn't find words, lose the thread part way through a conversation or say a similar word but not the right one.

HoppingPavlova · 19/05/2022 05:48

Have you self-diagnosed your current symptoms as Covid related or has a healthcare professional told you that’s what the current symptoms are due to. You are not clear whether you have had investigations to rule out causes other than post Covid.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/05/2022 05:59

Have you seen your GP? had a blood test? I was like years before Covid, with anaemia. Could be contributing to your symptoms.

Mirrorball2022 · 19/05/2022 06:17

I’d go to a GP and get some bloods and a check up/advice. Lots of people take a while to get over a virus, it might also trigger something else that was already there. With two births and small children in the last couple of years it may not be covid but anaemia . Of course covid can cause really bad fatigue too.

Sibling had covid in April and has possible Long covid and has been referred for tests, had bloods, ecg etc.

Signoramarella · 19/05/2022 06:17

Yes I had long covid for 5nmonths. I took steroid inhalers, prochloperazine for dizziness and aspirin for clots. Took 6 months to get better. You have to rest. Can you arrange for them both in ft childcare. Get appointment at a long covid clinic ( waiting list months here. I went private).

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 19/05/2022 06:52

You need to see a GP. Don’t assume it’s long covid. It could be something treatable.

You got a negative test. And you feel like shit still. Do it doesn’t have to be long covid (whatever that is)😐
people have given some good advice. Get some blood tests.
