Hi
my son is vomiting here and there with covid. It is a worry for me and I’m trying to make sure he has plenty of fluids and electrolytes. Has anyone else has this or their kids while they had covid? Any advise would be great.

We have had 10 cases of Covid at home and none of them involved vomiting. It may be worth it to ring NHS direct just in case he has something else in addition to Covid.

My dn did this for the first couple of days.
No long term side effects.

For my younger DC8 vomiting was their first and main symptom both times they had it

A day of vomiting, pain in the tummy, being quite low - then all ok again!

My eldest who is a bit older (so going through puberty) had more classic symptoms at the same time

DH and I (both late 50s) had vomiting and ongoing nausea as one of our main and earliest symptoms. It was horrid.

Yes my son has had covid twice, both times he was very nauseous and vomited several times. More so the second time he had it.

I had nausea and vomiting with covid, in total I was ill for about a week and a half and the nausea and vomiting lasted about 5 days iirc. I was soo ill and lost weight.
DH and both kids also all had covid around the same time, DC2 was 6mo and he went off solid food for about a week and also had a bit of vomiting for the first 2 or 3 days iirc. Vomiting is a common symptom of covid, its listed on the NHS website.

We thought our toddler had a tummy bug - wasn't until I had COVID symptoms a couple of days later I tested her and she was faintly positive by this point. The vomitting were her only symptoms!

DS 8 has vomiting as his first Covid symptom, I only thought to test him as he was also complaining of a very bad headache.

I tested my DD only because her best friend messaged her to say she had just vomited. Sure enough they were both positive. Fortunately we didn't get the vomiting symptom in our house, but the best friends younger brother was terrible with it.

You were lucky! Not only were we vomiting, but had diarrhoea too with covid. Those were our only symptoms the second time around.

Apparently there's a lot of this about, it's been given the name 'stomach flu'

2 of mine vomited a lot and struggled to hold anything down. Thought this was quite common symptom.
